Background

The story we chose for our cross media assignment is the tale of 'Little Red Riding Hood'. The fairy tale 'Little Red Riding Hood' has been around since the 14th century, there has been many adaptations and retelling of the tale ever since. One of the more famous retelling is that of the Grimm brothers in the 19th century. There is no copy right laws on the story itself, it is public domain as long as you do not take the words from another author.

Using our cross media platforms we are hoping to bring the tale of 'Little Red Riding Hood' to life, to make it seem real. In all the tales of 'Little Red Riding Hood' there was never a specific set of woods that it occurred in. to have the real life effect we need to have woods that people know so we decided to locate it in Germany the black forest. One third of Germany is covered in forests, that might have been an influence on the Grimm brothers and their tales. We chose this place as the original creators of the tale the Grimm brothers are from there. Having an actual location allows us to find out even more information about the area to enable us to make the tale seem apart of our world. Our website we are creating will hold more information about the land that the tale is set on. Such things as the national flower. The national flower of Germany is the cornflower.
